Christian Lacroix
The French fashion design Christian Lacroix had a successful start to his career in fashion. Working for leading companies and designers such as Heremes and Jean Patou helped to establish his name with in the industry. In 1986, Lacroix was approached by the chief executive officer from LVMH who offered financial support to help launch the designer's own label and in 1987 Christian Lacroix established his fashion house specialising in couture and ready to wear. His designs featured bright colour palettes and feminine silhouettes that were inspired by opulent costume design. In 2002 Lacroix was appointed artistic director of the Emilio Pucci fashion house and remained in this role for four years.
