Jean Paul Gaultier
French fashion designer, Jean Paul Gaultier established his namesake label in 1976 and released his first haute couture line in 1997. The designer’s collections included unique tailoring, underwear as outerwear, sailor suits and men’s skirts. Gaultier garments emphasised and disfigured the human body and allowed the wearer to express their sexuality. This is most evident in the recognisable Cone bra worn by Madonna on her Blond ambition tour. Many Gaultier garments, particularly his garments made from nylon mesh include graphics inspired by astrology, calligraphy, tattoos and religious symbols. Shop Irvrsbl's selection of Jean Paul Gaultier vintage archival pieces, which also includes an extensive range of signature mesh tops.
