Bottega Veneta
Bottega Veneta by Michele Taddei and Renzo Zengiaro in 1966. What was originally established as a leather goods company has grown into a huge luxury retailer specialising in ready-to-wear, jewellery, perfume and accessories. However, Bottega Veneta’s is most recognised for its signature woven leather handbags. The iconic intrecciato weave was a practical technique created as a way to make soft, thin leather structurally strong. Bottega Veneta was incredibly popular in the 1970’s and 80’s, appreciated for its high quality craftsmanship and logo-less design. During this success, the brand was worn by the likes of Andy Warhol and Jacquline Kennedy. Daniel Lee now leads the creative direction for the company and has presented his oversized reinterpretation of the brand’s intrecciato weave in recent fashion presentations.
