The Versace fashion house was founded by Gianni Versace in 1978. The brand’s recognisable Medusa head logo was developed in memory of Versace’s childhood, as he remembered seeing the symbol on ancient ruins that he played among as a child. Versace is best known for its flashy design aesthetic, bold prints and colour palettes. Gianni’s influence flooded into the music world, being one of the first designers to collaborate between the two industries. After Gianni’s tragic death in 1997, his sister, Donatella works to uphold his legacy and stay loyal to the brand identity that Gianni created.
